Healthcare Battle Brews as Rates Released

 Vermont became the first state to release proposed rates under the new healthcare marketplace — a requirement of the American Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as Obamacare.

But critics say the numbers look good on paper, but don’t reflect reality.

This is a Bill About Dead Bodies Lawmaker Bluntly Says

   A Vermont lawmaker doing research at the state’s cemetery — dug up a grim relic of a law: unclaimed bodies  are allowed to be snatched up for research without prior consent of the deceased.

And that’s not the only issue. The state’s morgue has a number of dead bodies on ice — indefinitely — because of a technicality that says they can’t dispose of them.

The history behind the law is surprising — medical students used to steal bodies from the grave.
